Matec follows ethical guidelines and solid business practices when conducting business. To this end, we have developed our Code of Conduct and Ethics, which sets out general rules of conduct based on our values and current legislation in Brazil. The code is intended to guide the conduction of activities performed by everyone with whom we establish relationships, whether employees, suppliers, co-workers and clients.
The Code of Conduct and Ethics is underpinned by two major sets of ethical principles: the values and basic principles of corporate governance adopted by Matec, and specific principles set forth by Brazilian legislation applicable to our business activities.
Therefore, it is essential that our employees, associates and partners be familiar with, comply with and enforce the provisions set forth in this Code and sign the Letter of Commitment.
In addition, Matec has implemented an Anti-corruption Program, which aims to strengthen the principles found in its Code of Conduct and Ethics, and reiterate our commitment to sound business practices. Among its tools, the program contains an Anti-corruption Manual intended for top management, employees, suppliers, clients, and affiliates and subsidiaries, both in Brazil and abroad.
Matec's governance agents will be responsible for ensuring the organization's economic and financial viability in the short, medium and long-term, and for this purpose will always act in a clear, concise and comprehensible manner, fully assuming the consequences of their acts and omissions.
Matec has a direct and confidential communication channel to ensure its commitment, transparency and loyalty. The channel may be used by employees and third parties interested in making formal complaints related to any conduct and/or behavior which fails to conform to our Code of Conduct and Ethics. Matec is committed to investigating such complaints thoroughly, acting professionally when doing so and ensuring information confidentiality.
